Contact us Hours & parking Prices Facilities Lane availability

The Kingscliff centre includes an outdoor heated 25 m 6 lane pool and a 15 m indoor heated teaching pool.

The centre has a small kiosk with refreshments and retail shop to purchase swim accessories including goggles, caps, swim aids and swim wear.

History of Kingscliff pool

TRAC Kingscliff was constructed thanks to a massive community fund-raising effort in the 1970s and was officially opened on 1 December 1979.

The complex has been refurbished on several occasions since it was built, including the addition of a Learn to Swim pool in the mid 1990s.

The latest upgrade saw the installation of a brand new heat pump for the 25 m pool and the addition of a 28 kw solar system. The shade structure over the teaching pool was also upgraded.

Mobility lift to support getting into pool

Mobility lifts

The mobility lifts at TRAC centres are available on request. There will be times when mobility lifts will be unavailable due to programs and bookings. Please call the centres direct to arrange access times.

They are simple to operate, safe and dignified for the occupant. The lift features a contoured seat which travels vertically in and out of the pool and is fully operated by the occupant.

It is advised that you contact the centre before arriving to allow time to set the unit in place. You are welcome to arrange to see the lift in operation before use.

Staff can provide some assistance in the operation of the mobility lift. It is expected that if your disability requires a care person they should accompany you to assist.

Lift capacity 250 kg. For more information about the mobility lifts visit greenhousehealth.com.au.

Lap lane guidelines

To ensure your lap swimming session is enjoyable please follow the lap lane guidelines:

  • treat other swimmers with mutual respect and courtesy
  • check the lap lane signage and swim in the appropriate lanes
  • select a lane based on your ability, the speed of others in the lane, and the stroke(s) you intend to swim during your visit
  • while swimming keep to the left side of the lane
  • if you need to pass a swimmer in front, swim past on the right, ensuring that there is room to pass without interfering with oncoming swimmers
  • stay aware of other swimmers to avoid collision
  • when waiting at the end of the pool, move across towards the corners of the lane to allow other swimmers to continue swimming laps
  • please do not be offended if a lifeguard asks you to move to another lane.
