Supervision of your Children - KEEP WATCH

Keep Watch at Public Pools

Australians have a love of water and each year TRAC welcomes tens of thousands of people into our community facilities. Within these aquatic environments comes a high level of responsibilty to ensure that everyone remains safe and it is for this reason that TRAC has a very strict "Supervision of Children" policy that adheres to the Royal Life Saving Society Keep Watch program:

  1. Chidren under 10 years will not be allowed entry to TRAC unless under active supervision of a person 16 years or older.

  2. For young children aged 0 - 5 years and non-swimmers there should be a parent or carer within arms reach at all times. For children aged 6 - 10 years constant active supervision is required.

  3. Give your children ALL of your attention, stay close to them and keep watch continuously.

  4. For children 11 - 14 years physically check up on them on a regular basis. More information 5 Star Aquatic Facilities Royal Life Saving (external link)

Unsupervised children in an aquatic evironment is simply not an option at TRAC. Water should, however, be seen as a fun and enjoyable environment for children, as it can assist in a child's early physical and intellectual development. The ability to safely enjoy water continues to benefit us at all stages of our lives. See Learn to Swim for the Community for more information.

Safety and Emergency Evacuation

Please take note of the TRAC evacuation plans which are displayed in prominent areas throughout the Centre. Our fire/evacuation systems is a siren sound as opposed to a bell alarm and regular evacuation drills will occur throughout the year. We thank you for your understanding during these important procedures.

All accidents and incidents are to be reported to the lifeguard. We advise you not to leave the centre if an incident or near miss has occurred until appropriate documentation has been completed.

Mobile Phones and Cameras

As a courtesy to other clients and visitors and in the interests of privacy, we ask that you do not take your mobile phone or photographic device with you into the pool or change room area. Photographic devices are not permitted in any TRAC centre without prior approval of TRAC management.

Lost Property

Any lost property that has been handed in or found by staff members can be collected at reception during our hours of operation. Lost property will be kept until the end of each school term where it will then be offered to a local charity. It is requested that valuables not be brought onto the premises. TRAC takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items. We recommend that all items be clearly named.
