General information

TRAC Return to Swimming in a COVID Safe Environment

According to the scientific literature from Swimming Australia, there is no increased risk of contracting COVID-19 from swimming in chlorinated pools.

In recent weeks, there has been a gradual easing of restrictions put in place by the NSW Government in response to the state's success in managing the COVID-19 situation. As the situation evolves the sport of swimming at TRAC will slowly return to normal.

The following information has been developed to assist in the restart of swimming at TRAC and is consistent with what is happening across Australia. This information is designed to assist swimmers and parents to operate as safely as possible while entering, exiting and using the centre for swim training.

Swimming Australia Guidelines for Restarting Swimming

TRAC will be commencing swimming at Level B as per AIS Framework for Rebooting Sport , which is 1 swimmer per lane, at the Murwillumbah Pool on Monday 1 June, 3 swimmers per lane from the 29 June (see program below) at both Kingscliff and Murwillumbah.

TRAC staff have developed facility safety protocols around the commencement of swimming and have completed training to ensure NSW Health guidelines are followed for a COVID safe environment.

TRAC Squad members are invited to book via calling 0266 702750 between 9am – 3pm on Friday 29 May and then Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm.
